The numbers of positive cases are increasing and more tests need to be done to ensure the spread is tackled effectively, he asserted." The good recovery figures raise questions too, he said.
Civic commissioner, Sudhakar Deshmukh said, "the increase in recovery percentage is because daily cases have slowed down compared to the 200 mark, and strict monitoring of private hospitals with penalty provisions on account of complaints they were charging more by retaining patients has led to good results."
The MLA, Prashant Thakur said, "the civic administration should let us know why certain areas have high recovery and another has low recovery as also what led to higher recovery."
New Panvel trails the five nodes (under the civic body) at 67.80% , while Panvel (the old township) tops with 94.94%.
Taloja too has a high of 83.04% but Arvind said, "cases in Navda village have risen from 42 to 67 in about one month.Door-to -door swab tests need to be done . Many who work in Taloja industries are tenants in the villages. There are several villages in my constituency."
